How to choose a right agent or immigration company?

Dear Ms. Chang,

I have visited your website. There are lots of  helpful imformation to a being immigant person like me.

How to choose a "right agent / immigration company" is now what I am concerned. Some say they can shorten the waiting time. Some promise that their fee can be refundable if the case is unsuccessful. After visiting your webpage, I have found it won't be as easy as they say.

I have my IT Master degree in US and stay in a Goverment Bureau for a while. I have contacted the immigation company in both Taiwan and USA. I am ready but not to know "How to immigate."  What will be the worse for the immigrant person? Wether are there some cases for the immigrant applicant's waiting time over 14 months? How should  the applicant do?

Sorry about using lots of "I."  Being a freestlye writer, you may experience too many things. At your point view, may I seek for your adivce to help me extend the life plan?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
gdan

Hi, gdan:

I owe you one for the questions you raised. Not too many of my readers brought up the topic of  professional ethics of Taiwanese immigration consultants as you did for me to comment. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to respond.

I am sure there are some immigration consultants with integrity and credibility in Taiwan . However, in the case that someone implied that they could shorten the waiting time is clearly a misrepresentaion.

With regards to regulating immigration Consultants in Taiwan, the conduct of Ministry of  Taiwan Interior Afairs is good for dogs.

They allowed one immigration firm, the firm their duputy mininster is very cozy with, to do extortion on one of my  clients I referred to them for some  typing work.

I am fighting this  case  in court over the last 2 years till this date. The prosecutors who handled my allegations turned blind eyes on my complaints .

Although I do not expect this case be overtuned in court given the corruption is overwelmin in Taiwan, I must go through the motion to prove how terrible people ther have to suffer. There is no justice in Taiwan.

Now, please tell me would you like to immigrate to U.S. or Canada? I hope you understand that I can only advise you on matters relating to Canadian Immigration.

With your qualification I believe you should apply under the Skill Worker category.
Due to  backlog problems, the federal application processing system has been simplified, yet the processing time has been extended.

If you wish to immigrate to Canada in a short order, I suggest that you get an arranged employment from Canada. In other words you need a job offer. Canada is currently experiecing shortage of manpower in certain areas.

I would be more than happy to assist you along the way. You don't need an immigration firm to help you. Some of the "Taiwanese immigration consultants"   can't read plain  English, let alone  the Canadian Immigration Act.

Should you wish to retain an immigration consultant, I suggest that you look one in Canada.

Let's keep in touch!

God Bless!

Daisy

Dear Daisy,

Thanks for your responding and help to solve my questions:)

You have pointed out what I am concerned and doubt. If you don't mind, may I ask the other "Hows?" I do want to start applying the Canada immigration process. Also, I'd like to shorten the waiting time. As you mentioned before, it will be good that there is a job offer to me in Canada. The question is "how may I find the job offer in a short time?"  The only option to immigrate to Canada for me is under the skill worker Category. Will it be hard or difficult? In front of my view, I see the misty future. It is such crucial decision that there is no room to allow to make any mistake. Would you like to tell me that the immigration is a kind of gambling? May god help and guide me.

I am so grateful to appreciate your time and responding. Wish you have a nice and wonderful  mid-Autumn festival.

Hi, dang:

I hate to tell you this, but if you are the type of person would like to have things done yesterday , you will be disappointed with your impending immigration application.

As to find a job offer, perhaps you should get on internet searching for recruiters/ headhunters specializing in areas of international  job seekers. It  depends on your expereince and your luck. However, persistence does play a role in all these. I believe you should give a try.

God Bless you!

Daisy

Hi Daisy,

Thanks for your advice.

I hope you don't mind that the way I respect you not only as a consultant but also as an old friend. "Regret" is the word I keep asking myself for these days. Making money is not my dream. To purchase a kind of good quality life for the family is what I would like to put all my energy and fight for.

Hope not disturbing you too much, and thanks for your replying again.
