Hi,
I'm living in Toronto and plan to return to my home country for good. Could you please let me know where I can apply for non-resident (for the purpose of tax exemption), and what documents I need to bring with me?
Thanks.

Hi, Johnny:
You may go to the closest Tax office near you and talk to the client service front counter and request their determination of your residency.
Or you may wish to fill out form NR73 (you may phone in the department and order the form or download it yourself) and send it to the International Tax Services Office.
In order to become a non-resident cautionmust be taken. On of the criteria is to sever the residential tie with Canada. You may wish to read IT 221-R3 for reference before fill out the above noted form.
Thank you for asking.
Daisy
